Novo Nordisk is embarking on building a new factory, in Clayton, NC. The plant will employ 700 new workers to produce active ingredients for an oral version of a medicine called semaglutide and a range of other diabetes drugs.
Novo Nordisk is currently seeking to attract top talent in the Research Triangle Park area. This once in a life:time career opportunity is ideal for manufacturing professionals who understand not only the operational complexities of manufacturing, but have the desire and drive to help us design and build. Candidates interested in taking this journey will be required to spend time in our API Production facilities (located in Denmark), as well as 3:6 months at a South Carolina location. There you will work with some of the best manufacturing professionals in the industry : learning and taking part in the plant design. Travel will not be a long term requirement but will be expected over the first year.
TITLE: MANAGER, RAW MATERIALS and SOLVENTS
PURPOSE:
* Manage all aspects of the Project/Project Team from conception through completion within cost, quality, and schedule requirements. Coordinate initial activities for project. The purpose of this position is to manage all activities and personnel related to the establishment and operation of the Raw Material and Solvent (RMS) process for the DAPI:US facility
* Once established, support/own the RMS process. Ensure continuous alignment of scope, schedule, cost and risk on project
* Ensure positive working relationship with Novo Nordisk, engineering firms, contractors and teams. Establish and maintain good communication and working relationship with stakeholders
* Meet or exceed customer, business and regulatory requirements in accordance with Novo Nordisk Way
* Ensure all activities are aligned with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) program
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
* Establishment and management of project team responsible for RMS
* Adherence to major milestones, schedules and monthly cost plan
* Project scope definition
* Business case development
* Collaboration within NN to gain best practices and equipment specifications
* Provide periodic project status updates
* Manage change control process to ensure adherence to deliverables
* Technical training and development of team members
* Performance reviews and developmental planning
* Continuous process improvement using cLEAN tools
* Quality and environmental management within area of responsibility
* Maintain and establish standards for procedures and maintenance plans
* All safety and environmental requirements in the performance of duties
REQUIREMENTS:
* Education: BS in Pharmacology, Engineering, Biology or related technical field
* Experience: 7:9 years of engineering experience in facility infrastructure as well as manufacturing experience in a pharmaceutical environment. Minimum 6 years knowledge and experience working in a regulated environment (FDA, cGMP, OSHA)
* Minimum of 6 years proven project management skills with major projects in excess of 20M
TECHNICAL/PROCESS/FUNCTIONAL KNOWLEDGE:
* Specialist in raw material handling and solvent preparation processes in the pharmaceutical industry
* Working knowledge of raw material handling and solven
